Global Reunion – Meet Google

As you know, we are launching a global reunion in Oxford this August, open to all alumni who have participated in our programmes in Oxford, Cambridge, China, Dubai, the US, Australia, Riga, and India.

Among the many former CBL participants who have registered to attend, we are delighted to introduce Maria Leindl. Maria is currently working at Google, and will be giving a talk about her career at the search engine giant.

“Spending the summer with CBL at the Cambridge University has been highly valuable to me and my career. I got to know so many interesting people I was able to learn from and I could extend my knowledge in business strategy which I need now every day in my job at Google.”
Maria Leindl, MA / Associate Account Strategist, Global Marketing Solutions, Google

We know that many of you are thinking of coming as a group and are still in the process of making travel arrangements. That’s why we have extended our early bird discount to April 30, so that you have more time to decide and still enjoy the GBP 50 discount!

Easter in full swing – get ready for summer

Last week we had the great pleasure of welcoming our Easter Session delegates to Oxford. Since their arrival, our delegates have spent a busy week attending lectures and keeping to a jam-packed schedule of activities including observing a trial at Oxford Crown Court, a tour of the legal and financial districts of London, and an excursion to Bath.

The Easter Session is a prelude to our upcoming summer programme in Oxford, which runs between July and September. We offer in-depth academic courses for university students as well as introductory courses for high school students, which include workshops for university preparation.

Old Friends Reunite in China

Last week we had two fantastic reunion events in Beijing and Shanghai. There was a great turnout of alumni members from different session years, and everyone seized the opportunity to socialise and swap stories.
The reunions kicked off with a keynote address from Professor Keith Hawkins, Emeritus Professor and Fellow of Oriel College Oxford, followed by speeches from alumni representatives, who shared inspiring stories of their personal and professional endeavours.

“It was a pleasure to see familiar faces and to reconnect with former participants on this side of the world. We heard some fantastic stories from our alumni representatives, and I’ve no doubt their words will go on to inspire everyone.”
Dr Dominik Wanner, Director of Cambridge Summer Institute at Magdalene College Cambridge

The Cambridge Summer Institute is a sister programme of Summer Institute at Oriel College Oxford, and is a popular choice with delegates, especially when taken in combination with our Oxford programme.

Ivy League Summer Institute

If you are looking for academic enrichment in a country other than the UK, then our sister programme in the US – Ivy League Summer Institute – may just be the thing for you! Delegates have the opportunity to spend two weeks on the campus of Harvard Law School (Wasserstein Hall), learning about Business Innovation or International Politics & Law. As with all of our programmes, academic learning is mixed with visits to institutions and corporations to help expand delegates’ practical knowledge of the US corporate sector.
